It’s kind of a joke in paleo diet circles that making the leap can make one far more frisky, but it is true. Good, whole, unprocessed food with uncompromised nutrition not only helps make a body healthy but puts hormones in balance. That in turn…well, the reader gets the idea.
It’s one of the not so great secrets of simple and clean living that can reap great rewards. Making simple changes to one’s lifestyle can make all the difference.
First off, and this one should be a no-brainer even as it is a difficult habit to break: ditch the cigarettes.
Smoking is already known for its damaging effects on the lungs, but here’s a little extra tidbit; it can decrease sex drive as well. When you smoke, your blood circulation is being depleted of essential oxygen, preventing it from functioning properly. This decrease in circulation affects all areas of the body — including your sex organs.
This one is rather well known, but it is true none the less. Eat those aphrodisiacs: strawberries, oysters, a cocktail (but just one), steak, avocado, fresh fruit. These are foods that give energy and some are known to release sex hormones. Just be sure to consume them with as little processing as possible.
Keeping in shape is good for any number of reasons, but when it comes to bedroom activities, good muscle tone adds to the experience. Muscles don’t have to work as hard for release, and heart conditioning can help make the whole experience last a long time.
And, of course, there is letting go of the main libido killer: stress. Nothing kills the mood faster than being wound tighter than an eight-day clock. Stress comes from all facets of life, and to get rid of it, do whatever needs to be done: get a massage (or start a bedroom session with one), listen to spa music, watch a sunset – anything that is relaxing.
None of this is all that expensive, and a lot of it is easy to achieve. In the end, most health professionals would consider restoration of libido a bonus, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to enjoy sex drive easily and all naturally just by making a few changes in life?
