There’s cheating when it comes to cooking in order to fill the house with the mouthwatering aroma of good food, and then there’s being downright lazy. The people who make A1 Steak Sauce are counting on their customers being downright lazy. Just like Yankee Candle did with vanilla, linen sheets, cookie dough, cinnamon, pumpkin pie, and all sorts of other scents that invoke hunger and good vibes, anyone now can make the house smell like steak just by lighting a candle.
A.1. Meat Scents candles.
The aroma of the famous sauce that’s been slathered on steaks, burgers, and meatloaf since the early 1800s is now available in 9-ounce candles that retail for $14.99 each.
The carnivorous keepsake comes in three different fragrances: Original Meat, Backyard BBQ, and Classic Burger.
Each one is hand-poured in the U.S. and will burn for 50 to 70 hours.
It’s enough to make grill maestros cry.
Hand poured in the U.S.? Yeah, there are more jobs created, that’s for sure.
Honestly, we are not sure just exactly how the wafting bouquet of freshly grilled steak can be captured in a candle, but we are sure that the A1 people have put some effort into it. If this product actually takes off, it can be gifted to all male pyromaniacs and patio terrorists for all sorts of occasions. Really, imagine a man cave smelling of steak and not sweat and stale beer.
This is the sort of thing that only happens in America. Want the smell and not the calories, extra carbon, cholesterol, etc.? Yeah, just get this candle, and burn it in the fireplace. Isn’t that romantic?
The Fox News article quoted above recommends perhaps substituting these candles for dad’s new tie, a bottle of aftershave, can of Simonize…whatever the old man gets on his Sunday in June. It might impact the surf and turf dinner planned with fresh, wild salmon and an actual piece of USDA prime sirloin, but what the heck. With this new product, the house can smell like grilled steak all year long.
