One Bladen County boy got what he wanted for Christmas – or so he thought – and his reaction was priceless.
5-year-old Brooks Carroll found out the hard way that the old adage, “Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it,” still holds true.
Brooks’ mom, Alison Carroll, was recording when his dad, Cley Carroll, brought out one last gift for the boy. This particular present was a little different than the rest, though. It was shaking and making a loud hissing noise!
On the video, you can hear Alison say that Brooks told his friends at school that he wanted a rattlesnake for Christmas.
Well, Santa delivered! Sort of.
Judging by Brooks’ terrified reaction, he immediately regretted his wish for a rattlesnake while the box hissed and shook at him.
“Throw it outside! No! I don’t want to open that! Get it away from me dad!,” Brooks cries out.
Much to Brooks’ relief, Alison reveals that it’s just a blue tooth speaker making all the commotion.
Amidst his parents’ laughter, Brooks let them know he didn’t appreciate the gag. “Y’all are mean!”
It’s safe to say he won’t be asking for a rattlesnake next year.
