RICHMOND, Va. — During winter storms like the one that hit this weekend, you are always told, stay at home. Some professions like doctors, nurses, and first responders don’t really have that option as their skills are needed more than ever.
This is why Sugar Shack Donuts of Richmond Virginia decided to make and deliver over 80 dozen donuts to them Sunday.
Sugar Shack founder Ian Kelley said his team was kicking around the idea Saturday night.
“We made the call last night to stay close. So we decided to make some stuff and give it away.”
He said he really appreciate what they do and was glad he could help make their long days and nights a little easier.
“They didn’t have a choice to stay home today,” he said.
Kelley said him and some of his staff got together at 7 a.m. this morning to start making the donuts.
