Pretty candles, framed photographs, sentimental nick nacks…and your clunky router. If it weren’t for the many joys it brings (namely Netflix and Amazon), you wouldn’t think twice about chucking the stupid black box. Here, an easy way to camouflage your router so it’s not such an eyesore.
What you need: A hardcover book that you will never read (but enjoy looking at) and an X-Acto knife.
What you do: Using the X-Acto knife, carefully remove all of the book’s pages so that it’s completely hollowed out. Then bend the spine wide open and slip the book around the front of the router so that the spine covers it.
Expert tip: Look to see where your router’s vents are located. If they’re on the sides, you’re good to go. If they’re on top, drill or cut a few inconspicuous holes in the cover to encourage ventilation.
